Event #7 - GreenSpaces F24 Race @ Chattanooga State Community College in Chattanooga, Tennessee
#000 Team - 5th OVERALL, 1st in Presentation (3-way tie), 6th in Endurance Race (60 laps)
#999 Team - 2nd OVERALL, 3rd in Endurance Race, 5th in Presentation (75 laps)
NOTES: 0.33 mile track length. 000 had to swap a motor just before start of second race heat & started a few minutes late, and nosecone fell off in the middle of the heat, which took some time to repair. 999 logged a total of 24.75 miles. 000 logged a total of 19.8 miles.

Throughout this season we traveled over 1,600 miles to attend 7 races in Alabama, Georgia, & Tennessee. We could not be more excited to announce that our brand new #999 team earned a grand total of 1,331 season points out the possible 1,540, more than any other middle school team in the entire United States - making them the 2019 National Champions in the middle school division. They logged a grand total of 288.61 miles during race heats. Additionally our #000 team earned a total of 1,258 season points, placing them 2nd in the nation for the middle school division. They logged a grand total of 294.66 miles during race heats. Our program total for miles driven during race heats was 583.67 miles between both cars.
Their dedication to competing at such a high level across an entire season against so many veteran, top-notch programs was remarkable. So to say we are proud of the accomplishments of our two teams would be an understatement - especially for just our second season of GreenpowerUSA and with our #999 team being a brand new, first-year team.

Coaching these two teams has been an honor and a privilege, and definitely one of the highlights of my 15 years at Long Cane Middle School.
