event scoring summary
A Presentation Component and 90-minute Race Session are required at all sanctioned Greenpower USA F24 events. During the 90-minute Race Session, teams are not permitted to change batteries.
team presentation (50% of overall event score)
The Presentation Component is completed by distributing the rubric for each event to all registered teams via the Event Page. Historically, presentations have been delivered through PowerPoint, live interviews, video submissions, and more. These are scored by judges selected by the Event Organizer. Because the team presentation is 50% of the overall event score, they are scored out of 50. For display purposes we've multiplied that times 2 in order to show the score out of 100 points as most people are familiar seeing.
endurance race (50% of overall event score)
Each team must compete in at least one 90-minute session to be eligible for overall points. The goal for each team is to complete more laps than other teams competing in their classification (age & division). This chart below showcases our team mileage totals for the current race season. Total mileage isn't used to calculate the endurance race score, but it's the best way we've found to measure our success at the endurance compared to how we normally perform.
overall event score
The Overall Score is determined by adding scores from the Presentation judging and Racing performances together. Races highlighted in green represent each team's four best event scores, which is used for calculating the national standings throughout the season, and for naming the season points champion at the end of the season.
